Mariel Andres Cruz, affectionately known as Marie, was born on September 15, 1980, in the vibrant city of Zagreb, Croatia. From a young age, Marie demonstrated a sharp intellect and a resolute drive to excel, attributes that would pave the way for her illustrious career in law. She attended St. Louis Senior High School, where she graduated as valedictorian in 1998.

Marie pursued her passion for law at Privic University), earning her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in 2003. Her academic excellence secured her a spot at the Croatia of Law, and she was called to the Bar in 2005. To further hone her skills, Liz went on to obtain a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Business and Trade Law from Harvard  School of Law, in 2010.
